Activity and the Russian Revolution
Several years back I was an audio at a camp for young people. When the initial group game time came, one of the leaders began by telling a parable predicated on Genesis 1-3. He defined the delights of winning contests in the Yard of Eden where the emphasis was just on the pleasure of play. But 1 day the serpent joined the backyard and tempted the Eden-dwellers with the notion of points. They gave into the temptation and began maintaining rating within their games and that led to all kinds of evils - opposition, lust for winning, cheating, frustration and fights. The leader told that parable to allow teenagers know that this week at the camp they'd be presented to non-competitive games. There were no items, number champions or losers, only the delight of play. But there was one critical problem - the games were completely and totally boring. Day following day less and less of the young adults turned up for the overall game time so that at the past one there have been just a handful of young people there.
Is that an accurate manifestation of a theology of sports? Clearly, I don't believe so. I'd like to present a brief and broad theology of sports. If you never that way name you can consider it as, "Why we ought to view the Very Dish!"
History can be summed up in three phrases: development, fall, redemption. So when you're looking at the theology of a concern you need to question: What is their relationship to or expression of generation, of the drop, of redemption? In contemplating the issue of sports, I have added two more phrases to expand our factor - incarnation and salvation (both which are, obviously, associated with generation, fall and redemption).
Formation - Lord may have created everything to be gray and serviceable. Rather, He created a great variety of shade, size, form, smell, consistency, sounds, and tastes. Why did He do this? He did it so your generation would be a representation of His person and, in particular, His beauty. It is really a masterpiece of function and form. The creation is just a perform of art.
Artwork may also be looked at as consisting of two forms: visible artwork - like painting, sculpture, structure, and, doing artwork - like drama, audio, dancing. The Master included both visible and doing artwork in the creation. Visual Artwork: plants, mountains, trees; Performing Artwork: oceans and rivers, planetary orbits, clouds. Some points in generation combine the two.
